Anthropic has named Jacqueline Dory Prescott its data center portfolio lead, bringing in a Google technical program manager who managed a 7GW portfolio spanning more than 20 data center buildings across seven campuses in North and South America.

At Google, Prescott led leased third-party powered shell data center projects. She spent two years at the hyperscaler before joining Anthropic. Earlier in her career, she worked at Stripe and spent seven years at Facebook (now Meta), including a stint as a program manager for data center energy and infrastructure.

Her appointment continues a clear pattern: Anthropic has recruited a string of former Googlers into its rapidly growing data center team.

Who else has Anthropic hired from Google?

The roster of ex-Google personnel now at Anthropic includes:

  • Winnie Leung — head of data center infrastructure
  • Brett Rogers — former Google data center construction lead
  • Liwen Mao — staff data center system architect, now Anthropic's data center design lead
  • Adam Johnson — data center electrical lead, joined in October after a decade at Google
  • Peter Sarossy — data center security engineering staff member, joined in January after 20 years at Google
  • Zach Miller — data center operations manager, left Google after 17 years
  • Scarlett Chen — former data center engineer for advanced technology and innovation, now a member of technical staff

What roles did the recent hires take?

The hiring has continued through the spring. In April, Sana Ouji left Google for Anthropic's new energy team to "responsibly and rapidly scale an ambitious data center portfolio." A month later, Mike Brinker joined from Google to focus on capacity delivery. A month after that, Asad Malik was appointed head of compute finance and strategy.

Earlier this month, the most senior catch arrived: John M. Wilson, Google's head of data center global design and construction, joined Anthropic.

What does the hiring pattern signal?

The volume and seniority of the transfers point to a sustained build-out of Anthropic's data center organization. The hires cover the full project lifecycle: design, construction, electrical engineering, security, operations, energy, capacity delivery and finance.

Prescott's background fits that profile directly. Her Google remit covered leased third-party powered shell projects — a procurement model that AI developers rely on to scale capacity quickly without owning and building every facility themselves.

For Anthropic, the hires reduce institutional learning curves. Johnson, Sarossy and Miller alone brought 47 combined years of Google data center experience. Wilson's departure from a global design and construction leadership role marks arguably the most significant single loss for Google's infrastructure organization in this sequence.

The moves also illustrate how competitive the market for data center talent has become, as AI companies race to secure power and capacity. Anthropic's recruitment has effectively used Google as a pipeline, extracting specialists from energy planning through compute finance.

Prescott now holds portfolio-level responsibility for that expansion.
