Spec summary
- Axe Compute has signed roughly $3.45bn in customer contracts to date
- Penguin Solutions will supply ClusterWareAI software and a 24/7 network operations center team
- Duos Technologies provides Axe Compute with 55MW of multi-location US capacity; the Columbus, Georgia site delivers 10MW
- Axe Compute acquired its Columbus AI infrastructure cluster from Duos Technologies Group earlier this month
- The two companies' partnership began in August 2026

Neocloud operator Axe Compute has signed Penguin Solutions as its AI factory platform provider, backing a deployment pipeline that already holds some $3.45bn in signed customer contracts.
The multi-year partnership covers multiple sites. Penguin will support the buildout of AI infrastructure projects Axe Compute has already contracted with customers, and the deployments will be designed, owned, and operated by Axe Compute itself. Penguin's role is delivery capacity and operations, not ownership.
What does the deal actually include?
Three components stand out for practitioners watching how neoclouds scale:
- ClusterWareAI: Penguin's operating system software will manage GPU cluster operations across the deployments.
- A 24/7 network operations center: a dedicated Penguin team works alongside Axe Compute staff around the clock.
- Design, build, and manage services: Penguin's broader portfolio, which also serves enterprises and sovereign AI initiatives, covers the full lifecycle from planning through operation.
That last point matters. Axe Compute isn't buying hardware; it's buying an end-to-end delivery and operations layer so it can take on more builds without growing every internal function at the same pace.
Why the customers choose this model
Christopher Miglino, CEO of Axe Compute, framed the deal around demand the company can barely keep up with.
"Penguin Solutions is a natural fit as we scale our neocloud business. Demand for Axe Compute Build has been exceptional," Miglino said. "Customers choose Axe Compute Build because they gain dedicated AI infrastructure tailored to their requirements without the complexity of designing, deploying, and operating it themselves."
He added that partners like Penguin add delivery capacity, letting Axe deploy faster, take on more builds, and keep customers inside its end-to-end operational model.
What Penguin gets out of it
Kash Shaikh, president and CEO of Penguin Solutions, positioned the company's AI Factory Platform as a combination most rivals can't match.
"Axe Compute is addressing a critical need in the market by bringing enterprise-grade AI infrastructure online quickly, reliably, and at scale, and our AI Factory Platform is helping enable that growth," Shaikh said. "What sets our Platform apart is its rare combination of OEM-like differentiated products and deep systems integration expertise."
For Penguin, the pitch is speed to revenue: helping customers like Axe accelerate project delivery, bring capacity online faster, and still meet service-level agreements.
The Duos Technologies backstory
Axe Compute's infrastructure footprint didn't start with this deal. The company works with Duos Technologies on its deployments and acquired an AI infrastructure cluster in Columbus, Georgia, from Duos Technologies Group earlier this month.
The two companies teamed up in August 2026, with Duos providing Axe Compute multi-location capacity across the US totaling 55MW. The Columbus site alone contributed 10MW to that figure.
Put in perspective: 55MW is enough power draw to serve roughly 40,000 to 50,000 US households, a useful frame for gauging the scale these neocloud contracts carry. The $3.45bn in signed customer deals, meanwhile, represents contracted demand Axe Compute now has to deliver on, which is exactly the execution pressure the Penguin partnership is designed to relieve.
For neocloud operators and their suppliers, the takeaway is straightforward. The bottleneck in this market isn't demand, it's delivery capacity, and companies are increasingly renting that capacity through platform partnerships rather than building it internally.
